Association. Our site is dedicated to bringing our members and the organizations we service the most up to the minute
information. Our Association, through its members, provides quality, trained and impartial contest officials to area
youth football leagues.
We are also proud to host web site information regarding our sister organization
the Greater Miami Athletic Conference Football Officials Association that provide FHSAA Certified Officials for high school
contests in Miami-Dade County. Both groups work together to provide top notch officials.
and visitors are encouraged to check this website from time to time for updates, meetings, game schedules, assignments,
and other important information...

Live Band and DJ
We are trying to help a fellow official in need. Mike and Randy Brown are former SFFOA Members, Mike moved
up into the Gulf South Conference. Randy stopped officiating when Mason Liam arrived. Regrettably Mason Liam had
a near fatal drowning. He has responded extremely well to non-traditional therapy and treatment like a hyperbaric therapy.
Not everything is covered by insurance and help is needed to continue these benefiting treatments.
You can purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win cash. We will email you if
The SFFOA will continue to host a page dedicated to the GMACFOA, the 2011 FHSAA Association
of the Year. The page will feature news and information related to high school football and will also allow for the
payment of dues on line. So don't forget to go and look at that page also whenever you visit our homepage.
WE HAVE A MISSION
Do you know what the SFFOA's mission is.
Every top notch organization has a mission that is encompassed in its Mission Statement. Our mission simply stated is
"to provide well trained, qualified and impartial contest officials to area youth football leagues." How we get there
is entirely up to you our members. We each have to set out to honor our mission and to achieve this we must be
focused and be of a single vision. Our Vision as an organization can be broken down into three short statements "Make
It Safe, Be There, Get It Right."

2017 HERB LATAL RULES CLINIC
WILL CONTINUE DEVELOPING ITS USE OF TECHNOLOGY AND VIDEO
The Herb Latal Rules Clinic will continue to feature quality video examples aimed at stimulating
rules discussion and in an effort to give us more time for discussion and learning class quizzes and the final exam moved
to an online format. This feature will simulate state testing and we hope that officials used the time to further their studying
outside the classroom. The technology will also allows us to keep track or rules or concepts that need more attention and
also allowed members to more closely track their own progress. Points will be awarded for attendance and active participation
in a facilitated discussion. The hope is that the effective use of technology in the classroom will lead to a more effective
official on the field.
OFF SEASON COLLEGE CAMPS AND FHSAA CLINICS
ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR IMPROVEMENT
Officials if you have any plans to advance to the next level or are really serious about just getting
better, make it a point to go to an off season camp or clinic. A camp or clinic with a field component is a great way to have
someone at a higher level or more experience evaluate your skills and offer constructive feedback to help you improve. It
is not all field and class work we do have some time to get to know some of our brethren, and some others from higher levels
and other parts of the state or country. A word of caution though, go with an open mind and while there is a chance that you
may be discovered and get an opportunity to work at a higher level, the most important reason you are there is to get better!
Over the last few years SFFOA members Mike Brown, Carlos Guzman, Dongray Johnson, Kevin McLeroy, Gabriel Quintana, Clem Quinones,
Ariel Rodriguez, Yurier Sanz and Bill Steiner where hired by college conferences after attending one or more camps during
the off season. Take advantage of them and talk with them about their experiences if you a chance and are serious about moving
Keep your eyes on this section and we will generate a list of camps and dates for our members.
HELP US KEEP YOU IN THE LOOP!
Off-season is generally filled with happening good and not so good. Some of us got married, still
lot's of kids being born to our members and sadly some of us lost a loved one. Last year we were touched by the
death of a colleague and hopefully hurricane season will spare us as well.
We try to send out an e-mail sharing the good news or expressing our sorrow whenever we now something.
It may also be something worth posting on our website. Please let us know when there is something worth sharing so we
can keep others in the loop.
HELP SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS!
Friday Night's are always a celebration at ISG
Members don't forget that it is our sponsors who help defray the costs of our website
and other expenses so that we can keep dues down. Fridays and some Thursdays during the regular season SFFOA/GMACFOA
members get together after our games to share a story or two and have a bite to eat at Italian Sports Grill located at 7912
NW 2nd Street just across the street from Mall of the Americas. ISG has been the site of the SFFOA End of Season Party
as well usually on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving where we partake in Karaoke Night with great drink and food specials.
We are always looking for additional sponsors
that can either help defray expenses or contribute to our charitable and community service efforts. If you know someone
or some business interested is supporting our efforts let us know and we will mention them prominently on this website.
2016 Ralph Lewis Memorial Blow the Whistle on Cancer Campaign
Ralph Lewis at FHSAA Finals
RALPH LEWIS MEMORIAL BLOW THE WHISTLE ON CANCER
CAMPAIGN RAISED $1,544 IN 2014 BUT REMEMBER IT IS A CONTINUING EFFORT OF BOTH SFFOA and GMACFOA!
The SFFOA and GMACFOA have learned first hand that cancer
knows no bounderies and comes in many forms. We donated officiating fees from the Killian-Palmetto
Game and our efforts throughout the year to the V Foundation for Cancer Reserach in the memory of our friend Ralph Lewis.
The total came to $1,544, with the SFFOA covering the any fees incurred from online donations. In
Ralph's memory we will continue to work towards finding a cure for the disease that took him from us way too soon.
We will never give up Ralph until we find a cure!
Our efforts have only begun click here to make a donation that will be made in Ralph's memory to the Blow
the Whistle on Cancer.
The Rebelious B's prepare to open the Sean Taylor Classic.

SFFOA TO CONTINUE USE OF ARBITER.
Officials will now be able to track both youth league and high school assignments using arbiter
game assignment software. Arbiter the first name in game assignment software has been used by the GMAC for all major
sports for three years now. The SFFOA got off to an fun start when youth league came around but we persevered and we
were able to take advantage to assign over 1,400 games during 2016. Members will continue to see their assignments, accept
or decline their assignments and update their availability on their home computer and in the age of the phone app it has a
telphone application for an additional charge for use on you iPhone, Android or Blackberry. Esential for our members
is a working and useable e-mail address as we will no longer support the assignments page on this website. Leagues and
teams will also be able to view their schedule and assignments using the software
